DESIGNERS

Designer duo Marjo Kuusinen and Piia Keto run together the accessory brand KAKSITVÅ from Helsinki. Keto is a textile designer focused on fashion. Kuusinen is a fashion- & shoe designer.

Keto and Kuusinen met at a punk gig in a small Finnish town over 10 years ago. They have known each other for so long already that designing together is effortless and their designs fit together seamlessly.

THE BEGINNING

In 2005 KAKSITVÅ started off as a small-scale experiment in jewellery and bag designing. The name of the brand consists of the word two both in Finnish and in Swedish. They came up with the name when they met a pair of Finnish-Swedish twins whose dissimilar personalities inspired them as designers.

The popularity of their designs exceeded all expectations and the duo decided to start building their brand in earnest. KAKSITVÅ expanded their collection to include men and women’s wear as well as accessories.  Their aim was from the beginning to combine both designers’ humorous lifestyle with commercially profitable products.

CONCEPT

KAKSITVÅ’s ideology is formed by friendship, humour, co-operation and mutual understanding. The energy put into making their designs shows clearly in the products. One can tell from KAKSITVÅ’s product that the duo has fun designing together. The inspiration to their work comes from everything that happens around them – countryside life mixed to the streets of Helsinki.

KAKSITVÅ differs from other brands with their crazy and daring attitude. They do not agree with the disposable nature of fashion today. KAKSITVÅ’s clients are forerunners in fashion who gain self-confidence from splendour. They are brave shoppers interested in design.

COLLECTION

KAKSITVÅ’s collection includes bags, clothes, jewellery and other accessories. KAKSITVÅ’s strength lies in the use of small details and innovations that make their designs spectacular and gives them a unique air. In each collection KAKSITVÅ combines recycled and new materials together.

KAKSITVÅ´s collections have been presented in the fashion trade shows since 2008. KAKSITVÅ has had an honour to be elected in Copenhagen, CPH Vision, Paris, Who’s Next? and Bread & Butter Berlin trade shows.

THE FUTURE

KAKSITVÅ strongly believes that the future is what you make of it yourself. The designers Keto and Kuusinen have an open and fearless attitude towards the future.
